A Medicare Supplement plan with Aetna is a secondary insurance to your Medicare that helps limit your out of pocket costs.
The monthly cost of an Aetna Medicare Supplement Plan can vary and is based on age, location, and other factors. There are no networks and you can see any doctor or provider nationwide that accepts Medicare.

Aetna offers plans A, B, F, G and N. Their most popular Medicare Supplement plans are Plan G and Plan N.
Plan F benefits cover 100% of what Medicare doesn’t cover.  There’s no deductible or out of pocket costs. The Plan F is only available to those were eligible for Medicare before January 1 2020.

Both plan G and plan N offer the same coverage for Medicare Parts A and B deductibles and coinsurance. Also Skilled nursing and rehab facility stays, hospice care, and foreign travel emergency.

With Plan G and Plan N you’ll be responsible to pay the annual Medicare Part B deductible. This deductible re-sets every January and it can change from year to year.

With Plan G, once you meet this deductible for the year, you have 100% coverage for the remainder of the year.
With Plan N, once you meet the Part B deductible for the year, you can have up to a $20 co-pay for primary or specialist office visits.
Telehealth visits, where you consult with a doctor over the phone, are not office visits, so there’s no co-pay for this service.

Another co –pay you could have with Plan N is if you go to the Emergency room, then you could have up to a $50 co-pay. But, If you’re admitted as an inpatient to the hospital, the co-pay is waived.

One other benefit that Plan N doesn’t cover is Part B Excess Charges. Excess Charges are rare and we don’t see this happen very often. If you see doctors that accept Medicare Assignment, or Medicare as payment in full, then you won’t have to worry about Excess Charges. I talk about Excess Charges in another video, and I’ll link that up above.
