2013 ford f150 5.0 crankshaft position sensor location

2013 ford f150 5.0 crankshaft position sensor location

Good evening,

I could not find an exact video for this engine but I attached a picture of the location It is on the driver's side of the engine at the back by the flywheel.

Why are you replacing it? Do you have a code?

The other issues you have are not affected by this sensor.

It sounds like the starter solenoid is not releasing and the starter may need to be replaced. You should verify power is not to the solenoid when the key is in the on position.

Can we start with the original issue?

So many places I've been told to find this sensor. Just trying to get a certain answer before tearing onto it. My truck has an EcoBoost engine.

Hi and thanks for using 2CarPros.

It's on the driver's side rear of the engine block where it goes through to rear from the flywheel. I attached two pictures. The first one shows several different components including the crankshaft position sensor. The second, I cut a section from the picture to get a closer look at the crankshaft position sensor.

Let me know if this helps.

Take care,
Joe

Hello, I'm Danny.

That code is for the camshaft sensor 'A' which is the intake sensor. That is located at the top of the cylinder head on the right (passenger) side. Here is a tutorial showing what is involved in its replacement.

What are the symptoms of a faulty crankshaft position sensor?

Symptoms of a Bad or Failing Crankshaft Position Sensor.
Issues Starting the Vehicle..
Intermittent Stalling..
Check Engine Light Comes On..
Uneven Acceleration..
Engine Misfires or Vibrates..
Rough Idle and/or Vibrating Engine..
Reduced Gas Mileage..

Where is the crank shaft sensor located?

The Crankshaft Position sensor is normally located in the timing cover or on the side of the block with a cylindrical portion that inserts into the block. Will a malfunctioning Cam or Crank Sensor illuminate the check engine light or affect vehicle operation?

Can I change my crankshaft position sensor myself?

While the crankshaft position sensor is a pretty sophisticated piece of equipment, and you might be intimidated by the idea of replacing it yourself, you probably shouldn't be. With a good set of instructions, the right tools, and some effort, you can replace your crankshaft sensor yourself.
