Who plays football tonight and on what channel

Monday Night Football tonight was likely once a highly sought-after contest between two NFC contenders. Now, however, both of these NFL teams are looking to turn the page to next season with aging rosters and questions surrounding their coaching situations. Who is playing, what time does the game start, how can you watch it, and what are the current odds?

The Monday Night Football matchup between the Los Angeles Rams and Green Bay Packers probably looked salivating to the schedule makers before the year started. However, both of these teams have been severely disappointing, and this game pretty much means nothing at this point.

The Rams, who are the defending Super Bowl champions, are already on the verge of being eliminated from playoff contention, and it’s only Week 15. It’s been a rough year for Los Angeles, thanks to a combination of a tough schedule and a ton of injuries.

Their offensive line has struggled to protect their QB, and their WR corps has been a revolving door. Last year’s Super Bowl MVP Cooper Kupp has been put on IR, and arguably the best defensive player in the league, Aaron Donald, has missed time with an ankle injury. Additionally, QB Matthew Stafford has missed significant time, and the team is now being led by free agent acquisition Baker Mayfield.

Mayfield came in to start for the team last week, and his first game was stuff movies are made of. He had less than three days to learn the playbook and somehow managed to not only look very capable but also lead the team on a 93-yard game-winning drive. With 10 more days to get accustomed to his new team, it will be interesting to see what Mayfield can accomplish in the frozen tundra.

Green Bay has also struggled this season thanks to injuries and questionable quarterback play from Aaron Rodgers. The Packers rank 23rd in scoring offense, and that has led to them not only losing the NFC North but also potentially falling out of playoff contention.

The team is coming off of their bye week, and the last time we saw them, they were dismantling the Bears (as per usual). The week off couldn’t have come at a better time for Green Bay. Rodgers needed to get healthy, and he should see the return of Romeo Doubs and David Bakhtiari for this game.

Sportbooks opened this game with the Packers laying a touchdown at home. However, since Mayfield’s heroics last week, the number has fallen to 6.5. PFN’s Betting Director BJ Rudell hasn’t fallen for the former first overall pick’s magic though, predicting a Packers win and cover in his Week 15 picks and predictions.

“If you believe Baker Mayfield is as great as he looked in the closing minutes of the Rams’ victory over the Raiders last week, then go with L.A. again. I’m sticking with Green Bay, in the belief their faint playoff hopes will keep them locked in on prime time.”
