Rated 3 out of 5 by from Different colors We used 3 cans of red wood to stain a lower level of our deck and restain our hot tub cabinet it worked well, bought 3 cans of walnut to do the upper deck and a couple planters first can was great second can was similar but, started to get darker near the end of the can. 3rd can of walnut was almost black totally different than the first 2 cans. Not impressed! Wish I would have mixed all cans in a pail so the deck would be the same color.

Rated 5 out of 5 by RoyY from Looks great. Advice included I love the way that my bar turned out with this stain. I originally thought I had a problem similar to what others have stated about the color being orange, but found a solution to the problem. What I realize was even after I ship a can for what I thought it was a long enough. To get a good mix, I still had results that looked more orange than brown. I decided to take a razor knife to the can and cut it in half. What I found was a lot of sediment on the bottom. What I did was used a paint stirrer to get all of the sediment into a bucket with the orange stain, and then mixed it up really good with a paint stirrer that attaches to my drill. After I did that, the results were perfect.

Rated 5 out of 5 by G1116 from Best oil based semi-transparent stain When used as directed, this is by far the best oil based stain I have used in over 40 years of maintaining my cedar home with multiple decks. I have used it on decks, siding, and trailer floors, and it continues to repel water for years. It also holds up well to foot traffic. I highly recommend this product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Aennis92 from Performs as described Applied the walnut semi transparent timer oil to white wood picket fence almost 3 years ago. It performs exactly as described as long as you follow the directions. No issues at all. I've had to replace a few pickets recently and had no issues making the color match (for the most part). I put on more than 1 coat to get a darker color making it easier to match in the future. Yes, it will come out orange if you do not mix it efficiently. I shake the can for at least 1 minute before pouring, if it sits untouched for more than 30 minutes. Great product and love the "forgiveness" when applying. It doesn't have to be applied "perfectly", but you do need to mix it well before applying. I used mini nap rollers and throw away bristle brushes for application.
