Qualified person Show The basic procedure for changing operating parameters is explained in another section ( > Changing Operating Parameters). Function of the battery protection mode: The battery protection mode protects the battery. If the state of charge (SOC) of the battery falls below the thresholds, battery protection mode is activated. In battery protection mode, the Sunny Island switches to energy-saving mode or switches itself off. The battery protection mode has three levels. One state of charge threshold can be set for each level. Levels 1 and 2 of the battery protection mode have specific start and end times and are therefore dependent on the time of day ( > Setting Time-Dependent Functions).
At all three levels, the Sunny Island will only switch to energy-saving mode or switch itself off if no charging current has flowed in the battery for at least five minutes. Recharging the battery with an external energy source: In levels 1 and 2 of battery protection mode, you can charge the battery at any time with an external energy source. If a voltage is present on connection AC2, the Sunny Island exits the energy-saving mode. If the Sunny Island has switched to level 3 of battery protection mode by itself, you must charge the battery in emergency charge mode (see the Sunny Island inverter operating manual). Time settings: The start time and the end time can be configured for battery protection mode levels 1 and 2. If the state of charge falls below the threshold for level 1, the Sunny Island switches to energy-saving mode between the start time and end time. If the state of charge falls below the threshold for level 2, the Sunny Island switches to energy-saving mode between the start time and end time. The Sunny Island attempts to charge the battery in the remaining time. Procedure:
Just documenting the second problem of my KL Trailhawk in a month. A couple of weeks ago my KL died on the road and the dealership said it is a TCM issue. Took two weeks to get the part and have it repaired. Now this time I noticed the message "Start/Stop Battery Protection Mode" when I scrolled to the start/stop menu screen. No error message or warning lights on the main dashboard. The protection mode message will go away if I drive for more than an hour but the issue comes back the following day. According to the jeep's menu, my battery is at 14V so I assumed the battery is OK (about 3 yrs old). I took it to the dealership, they said it is a battery issue. Total damage is about $400 -- $150 labor, the rest for the battery. If I decide to change the battery myself, then they will charge me $200 for diagnostics. I should've tested the battery thoroughly myself before taking it to the dealership. Hope this will help someone in the future if they run into a similar problem. Why does my car say battery protection mode?Function of the battery protection mode:
The battery protection mode protects the battery. If the state of charge (SOC) of the battery falls below the thresholds, battery protection mode is activated.
What does it mean when it says stop/start not ready? Not ready with no other explanation means it is charging the secondary battery. If you have been driving just around the neighborhood with lots of stops that is likely the issue. I was just about to call the dealer for the same issue but after one short 10 mile drive on the it started working again.
How do I turn off battery protection? To turn Battery Saver on or off: At the top of your screen, swipe down. Tap Battery Saver .. Open your phone's Settings app.. Tap Battery. Battery Saver.. Turn on Turn off when fully charged.. What is protection mode for a battery charger? The tablet will stop charging at 60% to prevent the battery from being damaged when continuous power is left connected to the device.
