How do I add or reprogram a hand-held garage door remote control?Press and release the LEARN button on the garage door opener unit. The learn indicator light will glow steadily for 30 seconds. Within this 30 second time period, press and hold the button on the hand-held remote. Next, release the button when the overhead opener unit’s lights blink. If light bulbs are not installed on your opener, then two clicks will be heard. To erase all codes from motor unit memory: How do I program my vehicle’s HomeLink® system with my Door opener? Please follow the following steps: Hold the end of the hand-held remote control (transmitter) you wish to train approximately 1-3 inches from the HomeLink surface—keeping the indicator light in view. Simultaneously press and hold both the hand-held transmitter button and the designated HomeLink button—releasing both buttons only when the indicator light changes from a slow to a rapid blink. Press the “SMART BUTTON” or “LEARN BUTTON” on the Raynor opener for one second and release. (Note: you only have 30 seconds in which to initiate step 5.) Return to the vehicle and firmly press the programmed HomeLink button TWO times (press and hold each time for two seconds). The garage door opener should have activated upon the second press of the HomeLink button. Note: HomeLink equipped vehicle models manufactured in 1995, 1996, and early 1997 will not be compatible. To determine if a 1997 HomeLink equipped vehicle is Security + compatible, follow steps 1-3 above. Upon the completion of steps 1-3, press and hold the programmed HomeLink. If the LED blinks rapidly for two seconds and then turns solid, the HomeLink is rolling code compatible and the remaining programming steps can be completed. If the LED is solid when the programmed button is pressed, then the HomeLink is not compatible. **To erase all Intellicode remotes and wireless keyless entry, hold down on the learn button until the indicator light stops blinking, then proceed to Step 1. For Genie IntelliG, TriloG, SilentMax, PowerMax, GPower, and PowerLift Series Openers ( Intellicode II ) These include models 4024, 3024, 4042, 3042, 4022, 3022, and 4064, 3064, 4062, 3062, 2564, 2562. Programming Digital Remote Transmitters with Internal Set Switches These transmitters work by matching the settings on the internal code setting switches with the same set of switches in the receiver on the garage ceiling. The receiver is located either behind the light lens of the Genie garage door opener motor head, or inside an external small rectangular box on the ceiling, which is connected to the motor head by a set of wires. Note: the frequency of the transmitter must be the same frequency as the receiver on the ceiling for it to work. Genie has been making the 390 MHz frequency exclusively for the last 15 years. Programming Multi-Button Digital Remotes with Internal Set Switches:These garage door opener transmitters have 2 smaller switches to the right of the internal Code Setting Switches. The small right switch should be set according to how many Code Setting Switches in your receiver (either 9 or 12). The small left switch is for programming purposes. To program a button for one of your doors, follow the instructions below:
Installation of Genie GIC390 Intellicode Receiver Terminals labeled 1, 2 and 3 on the Receiver are connected to their corresponding terminals on the garage door opener Power Head labeled 1, 2 and 3. Color coded wires correspond as follows: White = 1, Black = 2, Red = 3. (Wiring connections inside the GIC receiver plastic cover are as follows: Red = 1, Black = 2, White = 3. Note that these wire connections are in a different order than the connections to the motor head.) Installation of Genie GIC390 Receiver Using 24 VAC Power Pad Installations using a Power Pak plug-in will connect the two terminals on the power pack to terminals 1 and 3 on the receiver, color coded white and red. The receiver’s white wire (1) also connects to terminal 1 on the Garage Door Opener Power Head. The receiver’s remaining black wire (2) connects to terminal 2 on the Power Head. Installation of 36163R Universal Intellicode Receiver This new Genie Intellicode Radio Receiver connects differently than previous versions of Genie external receivers. The receiver is powered through the terminals marked power and common. A Genie garage door opener which has only 3 terminals on its motor head will use the terminals on the motor head marked 1 for common and 3 for power. If you have a Genie garage door opener with more than 3 terminals, an external 24Vac adaptor will need to be purchased to supply power to this receiver. For example, if you are replacing an existing Genie external receiver, the red wire connects to the “power terminal” on the new receiver, the white wire connects to the “common” and the black wire connects the terminal marked “wall button.” CHAMBERLAIN / LIFMASTER / SEARS GARAGE DOOR OPENERSProgramming 971LM and 973LM, 371LM and 373LM Security Plus Transmitters
