I’m going to show you how to air fry corn on the cob, make air fryer frozen corn on the cob, (yep, you can freeze corn!), and even how to make the air fryer corn on the cob in foil.

They’re all delicious and will have you cooking more corn this season.

You can enjoy this recipe right on the cob or use a corn peeler to just enjoy the actual corn kernels on their own.

How to Make Corn on the Cob in the Air Fryer

  • Preheat your air fryer to 400 degrees.
  • Mix the melted butter, parsley, and sea salt in a bowl and baste the mixture onto the ears of corn. Using melted butter helps keep the corn moist while making it easy to coat the entire corn evenly.

  • Place the corn in the air fryer and cook for about 13 minutes, turning the corn halfway. Some corn kernels will have brown marks on them. They will taste wonderful. If you don’t like this, see below on how to cook air fryer corn on the cob in foil.
  • Remove the corn from the air fryer and either roll the corn in the Parmesan cheese or sprinkle it on top.

  • Enjoy immediately or refrigerate up to 3 days following the directions below to reheat.

How to Make Air Fryer Corn on the Cob in Foil

While I love some roasting corn to the point it’s browned in spots, I know it’s not appealing for everyone.

Making corn on the cob in the air fryer with foil allows you to completely cook the corn while holding in flavor and finishes with bright yellow corn kernels.

It’s as simple as this:

1 Place corn on a piece of aluminum foil and baste on the butter mixture.

2. Fold up the aluminum foil around the corn and cook according to this recipe. You can even cook them with your uncovered corn at the same time if you want to make both kinds.

We’re constantly cooking half uncovered and half of our corn in foil to please our picky eaters.

Other Variations of This Recipe

  • Leave the parmesan cheese out and add just a pinch of sea salt to create a flavorful buttery variety.
  • Switch out the parmesan cheese and top the corn with some chili powder, feta cheese, lime juice, and cilantro for a delicious air fryer Mexican street corn recipe (also called elote).

How to Prep the Corn to Be Air Fried

This recipe calls for the corn cobs to be fully shucked. Follow these directions to completely shuck the corn easily.

  1. Remove the corn husks layer by layer and pull them off at the ends.
  2. Twist the corn in your hands to help remove the silk. You can also use this corn de-silker to help.
  3. Use a knife or your hands to cut/break off the bottom of the corn to help it fit into the air fryer.

How Do You Know When Air Fryer Corn on the Cob is Cooked?

Checking your corn to see if it’s completely cooked is very easy.

  • Use a sharp knife or fork to poke one of the corn kernels. The corn is done when it feels tender.
  • If the corn still feels tough, let it keep cooking a few minutes more then test again.

How to Freeze Corn-on-the-Cob

Did you know you can freeze corn-on-the-cob to enjoy later? That means the late summer crop can be enjoyed in the winter!

But unfortunately, you can’t just shuck the corn and stick in it in your freezer. Well, you can, but it will taste chewy and bland.

Follow these steps to blanch the corn and enjoy frozen corn cooked in the air fryer any time of year.

  1. Bring a pot of water to a boil.
  2. Shuck the corn entirely.
  3. Boil the corn on the cob for about 3 to 4 minutes.
  4. Remove the corn from the water and immediately place it in a bowl of ice water for at least 5-10 minutes to stop the corn from cooking.
  5. Dry the corn with a paper towel completely (I let it sit out a few minutes to help dry it out more too) then place in a freezer bag making sure all the air is out.
  6. Freeze corn for 8-12 months, watching for freezer burn.

How to Cook Air Fryer Frozen Corn on the Cob

  1. Preheat your air fryer to 380 degrees.
  2. Pull ears of corn out of the freezer.
  3. Cook the frozen corn on the cob in the air fryer for 3 to 4 minutes the baste corn with butter, sea salt, and parsley (see measurements below).
  4. Cook corn for an additional 7 to 9 minutes.
  5. Remove corn on the cob from the air fryer and roll in parmesan cheese.

How to Reheat Corn on the Cob in the Air Fryer

When reheating corn on the cob in an air fryer with this recipe, I recommend keeping the Parmesan cheese off the corn on the cob until after it’s reheated.

  1. Preheat your air fryer to 350 degrees.
  2. Place corn in the air fryer and cook for 3-4 minutes, until heated through. Add more butter, sea salt, and parsley if necessary.
  3. Remove the corn ears from the air fryer, roll in Parmesan cheese, and enjoy!

An easy roasted air fryer corn on the cob recipe coated with parmesan cheese. It's everything you didn't know you needed in a corn recipe.

Ingredients

  • 2 ears of corn
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried parsley (or 1 1/2 teaspoon fresh)
  • 1/4 teaspoon sea salt
  • 2 tablespoons shredded Parmesan cheese (or grated

Instructions

  1. Preheat your air fryer to 400 degrees.
  2. Shuck both ears of corn and remove any silk. Cut corns in half if desired.
  3. Mix together melted butter, parsley, and sea salt in a bowl. Baste on corn evenly. Wrap corn in foil if using (see above for more information on this)
  4. Place corn inside the air fryer side by side and cook for 12-14 minutes until some pieces are browned.
  5. Remove the corn from the air fryer and roll in the parmesan cheese.
  6. Enjoy immediately or place in the fridge for up to 3 days without cheese on top and reheat with directions below.

How long should you cook frozen corn on the cob?

Generally, you'll want to boil frozen corn longer than fresh corn. Frozen, shucked kernels also cook quicker than frozen corn on the cob. Add either to boiling water and cook the shucked kernels for 2–3 minutes or until tender and frozen cobs for 5–8 minutes or until tender.

How long does corn take in air fryer?

Rub corn with olive oil. Sprinkle evenly with salt. Preheat a 6.3-quart air fryer to 400°F for 5 minutes. Place corn in air fryer basket, and cook until charred and tender, about 14 minutes, turning once halfway through cook time.

Can you cook corn on the cob from frozen?

Fill a large pot with water at least halfway and bring to a boil. Add frozen corn, cover, and return to a boil. Once boiling, remove the cover and boil 5-7 minutes or until hot and the kernels are tender. Serve with butter and salt.
