Audi A6 C7 2015 S-Tronic Gear box issues - J217 Show
Saim Original Poster 2 posts 69 months Friday 24th January 2020 Hi , I
need some advice , I have an audi a6 2015 S line , 108 K , Full Audi maintained . The gear box has been service at 60 K and then again at 100 K . Diagnosis into gearbox issue. Found gearbox oil coming through gearbox control unit and into wiring. Requires replacement gearbox control unit J217, and all replacement seals and gaskets as mechatronics requires removal The quoted cost is 2.5 K . The car had no issues prior to this . I tried googling it but no luck . Saturday 25th January 2020 Service intervals for the DSG 'box are 38k.... so would imagine any goodwill from Audi would not exist. Try an indy - My wifes Seat DSG went a couple of years ago - 6k for SEAT to fix - an Indy gearbox specialist charged 3K - but that did include a new mechatronic unit and its re-coding Saturday 25th January 2020 first change was 22k miles late - you wouldn’t let your engine oil go that’s far over and ask for
goodwill on something out of warranty - why should a gearbox be any different? Saim Original Poster 2 posts 69 months Wednesday 29th January 2020 Thanks for the
response , I think i was not clear in my question . I was more after in knowing if any one had the same issue with their gearbox . Wednesday 29th January 2020 Post 2011/2 are generally more reliable than the earliest boxes, but they can all suffer from faults to a certain degree. Mechatronics related faults are one of the most common. Dr G has previously, from memory, recommended these guys who will do repairs https://milta.co/ Might be worth a call with your fault code details and the servicing history of the box and see what they advise? Don't forget that a lot of the cost is the time to remove and reinstall the gearbox, so if there are any doubts over the length of time the box might last it'd be worth having it properly inspected while it's in bits.
