2004 chevy trailblazer crankshaft position sensor location

I'm completely ignorant and can't even find an engine diagram online to tell me where the crankshaft sensor is. Help? I have the part, got it at Auto Zone after the check engine light indicated a problem and this is what they thought was the most likely issue. I just need to find where it is and where it goes!

:tiphatTHis is a cylinder cam mounted on forward of engine, passenger side, behind the steering fluid reservior. It was the most frequent trouble code I had. Only way to get to it is detach serpentine belt, drop the steering fluid reservior (it should just rotate out of way with one bolt through it the engine still in. After buying one or two of them at around 60.00 a pop, I decided to just see what I can do with it. There's a screen inside the cylinder, I just slided it out and cleaned the screen, then put it back in, it will be good to use. No need to keep buying a new one.

That would be the cam sensor. I believe the OP asked about the crank sensor. It is located on the left side of the block, below the starter for the I6 and on the right side of the block between the starter and engine block for a V8.

First post and after much research..I'm completely lost.

Crankcase position sensor, where exactly is this? I even unbolted the starter in hopes it was around behind that to no avail. I took off passenger side tire trying to get a better angle at it, nothing. I can't even find a diagram, but plenty of how to for the I6 which doesn't help me much. Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

See the above youtube link. Helped me out a ton. Still it is not a quick or easy change out. Cant reach it from the top. Cramped and awkward to reach from below. It is located on the drivers side of the motor near towards the back of the motor. Single 10mm bolt. Take the bolt out first, then you can unclip it from the cable. Also, it is tough to remove so you may have to pry with a screw driver.

LOL, thanks. That link is what I used to do it. On mine, the sensor was actually hiding wrapped around aluminum (heat guard) foil so I couldn't see it until I moved the starter out of the flywheel. Finally got it back on the road and maybe one day I'll replace the steering wheel position sensor for my Stabilitrak light. Thanks again!!!
