THE Solution!

If you’ve got Ford ignition cylinder problems, this is the product to solve them. There are no instructions included, but they are readily available on YouTube, etc. Attentively follow them, and you will be rewarded! The best part is you can use your own key afterwards instead of having to pay through the nose at a dealership or such.

A little trickly at first to assemble. But finally found out how to set it up-correctly.

Just the trick to replacing your ignition lock assy. Better build than the OEM. with some know issues of OEM solved. Only issue was little or limited instructions, but went on-line and found what I needed, basically how to assemblly it, completely and make it work, right. Seller would have done it, but unable to get them information they needed, to do it. Turns out my problem was the part this hooks up to, much more involved and more expensive to replace than this lock cylinder. This is a quality USA made replacement part that works-very good and will probably out- last the life of the car.

Saved hundreds of dollars

Watch a couple of videos on u tube. It is straight forward. Only problem I had, the ignition wouldn't turn to the accessory position. This is needed to remove cylinder. I had to drill the cylinder and remove the cross bar. This allows the cylinder to rotate. Also u tube videos available. This was the first time I attempted this. Learn what you can before you start. This literally saved me hundreds (That I don't have to start with).

STRATTEC KEY REPAIR KIT

I have used this kit a few times and it always does the trick. I've saved my customers hundreds of dollars each by using this kit instead of buying a new lock cylinder and having the new key flashed. Comes with a bunch of wafers and an extra spring. One key was pretty worn but I ground one of the wafers down on the grinder and all was well. Pretty easy to do and will save you a ton of money.

Don''t fiddle with old ignition switch

Works well, just draw a map of old tumblers and take your time. Ignition feels like it used to. Interior of lock looks like old one, key hold cover a little different but fine

We’ll take a look and remove the review if it doesn’t follow our guidelines.

How do you change a ignition lock cylinder without a key?

Take your screwdriver and insert it into the ignition lock cylinder. Turn it as far round in a clockwise direction that you can. Then pull the paperclip to the right as much as you can. You should then be able to slide the switch out easily.

How much does it cost to replace ignition lock cylinder?

The average cost to replace an ignition lock cylinder is $237 for parts and labor. This estimate is an average across all regions and vehicle types. Labor ranges from $45 per hour on the low end to $90 per hour on the high end depending on the region.
