Once my refund was deposited, this bank made it impossible to have access to my phave access to my friends. It took me a week before they finally admitted they were unable to link my state bank checking account with their account so I had no access to my funds. I finally received a debit card from them so I was able to get access to my money. Then all of a sudden for no reason they arbitrarily deactivated the card! I called them and complained bitterly, and they promised to expedite a card to me. Bank. 2 days later I got an email from them telling me that they, again, arbitrarily closed my account and were sending a paper check through the mail, another 14 days before I have access to my funds. The people who run this bank are incompetent and inept at best. Do yourself a favor and stay far away from MVB bank. Comment pjfrickey July 6, 2019 • @pjfrickey 1 Star Rating Although I like the employees at the MVB Charles Town, WV and Martinsburg, WV branches - they are friendly, helpful. and professional, the "Call Center" personnel at the toll free number can never be reached - even during normal business hours. I always get a message stating the representatives are busy assisting other customers and to leave a message and they will return your call but they have NEVER returned my calls! My main issue it this: The bank frequently blocks my Business and Personal Debit Cards, even when the purchases (on line and in the store etc) are small - like under $5.00!!! When this happens it is a MAJOR hassle and inconvenience and had I not had cash on my person i would have been stranded or without medication I needed! They claim they are blocking my cards for "your protection" but this is ludicrous! I have maintained a 5 digit $ bank balance for many years and have direct deposit. I am taking my business to another bank! I have banked at other banks and have never experienced these issues! The biggest problem that I have encountered is having my online checking hacked twice and our debit card numbers being stolen and needed reissuing. In the circumstance of my account being hacked I was kicked out and unable to see my information. Because they don't have a corporate line to address these problems I was left waiting to resolve it on Monday. It was resolved quickly and no damage was done, however, the same thing happened a week later. The second time there were 2 fraudulent purchases and all of my activity was frozen. This was able to be resolved at my local branch the next day. Overall I like this bank more than others I have dealt with in the past.
