FORT WALTON BEACH, Fla. (WKRG) — The Florida Department of Agriculture shut down all gas pumps at the Fort Walton Beach Sam’s Club Wednesday, July 14.

The Department of Agriculture said the store was unlawfully selling substandard gas based on petroleum fuel standards.

Reg tags hang on all the gas pumps explaining the law violation.

525.037 Petroleum fuel standards.—

(1) It is unlawful to sell or distribute, or offer for sale or distribution, any petroleum fuel which fails to meet any standard adopted by rule of the department.

(2) The substandard product shall be placed under a stop-sale order by the department and the measuring devices and storage tanks of said product shall be sealed by the department to prohibit sale of said product.

(3) If the product is made to conform to standard or removed from the premises in a manner approved by the department, the department shall issue a release order.

Management of Sam’s Club on 740 Beal Parkway has not returned WKRG News 5 requests for comment. Walmart Corporate is looking into the situation.

Sam’s Club staff on-site Thursday said repair crews are at the pumps replacing a broken unleaded fuel section. Staff said the gas station will be unavailable until Wednesday July 20 at the earliest.

The Florida Department of Agriculture did not say how long the gas station could be shut down.

Always a line7=10 vehicles in front of you! Looses gas pumps due to shortage. Raises prices while waiting($3.16-3.21). Suggest more order and more pumps. Car was h is kaput lot of times..Could change price end of day, not so greedy of them.

I have say thank you to Sam's for their prices, however, the station design is TERRIBLE! Even if they want to keep traffic flow one direction, the spacing is bad restricting access and exit. Just my humble opinion.

Great fir your gas need BUT always TOO CROWDED need to put in more tanks. We leave many times and go elsewhere instead of waiting so long. Thank you.

If you have nothing to do other than sit with a bunch of retirees with nothing else to do this is the place! Still have no idea why there are long lines to get gas, there is no shortage folks! Park and go in and eat some samples.

Always has the cheapest gas, the only downside is that you always have to wait behind a car or 2. Seems busier since gas prices started rising under this brilliant administration.

I normally would not post at Sam's Club but I had a young man there who actually helped me help the person in front of me pump the gas which I was so shocked that people still do this
