This is a 60 hp Mercury 4-stroke Bigfoot outboard boat motor for sale. This engine includes the following: EFI, Power tilt and trim, 4-stroke, 20" Shaft, and a Bigfoot lower unit. The Bigfoot lower unit allows the motor to spin a larger prop diameter than a conventional 60 hp. This will provide more thrust and torque. This engine has electronic fuel injection which provides easy and reliable starting. The weight of this motor is 266lbs which will make it work with most boats in the 14-18ft range. We have fully boat tested this motor and it runs excellent. This would make a great outboard for a boston whaler, carolina skiff, flats boat, aluminum boat, pontoon boat, deck boat, and any watercraft that can handle a 60 hp 4-stroke outboard boat motor.

How to Decide on a Mercury 50 99 hp Complete Outboard Engines to Use

Mercury has been manufacturing engines for the marine industry since 1939. The company makes a full line of outboard engines for boats and other watercraft. Here is what you should know about the engines like an affordable 75 hp Mercury outboard two-stroke for sale on eBay.

The differences between two and four-stroke engines

One of the things you have to decide before deciding on whether you should buy a new or used Mercury 50 hp two-stroke or a Mercury 60 hp four-stroke engine is knowing the difference between two- and four-stroke engines and what it means to you.

  • Two-stroke engines like a Mercury 90hp two-stroke have a lightweight, simple design that makes it easier for you to perform maintenance and repair work on it. The weight of the engines makes them fairly easy to move around. It has a high torque output at a high RPM, and it can produce a lot of power for its size.
  • Four-stroke engines are heavy engines that are designed to run smoothly and last a long time since the engine operates at a low RPM setting. The four-stroke is an environmentally friendly engine since it is made to be fuel-efficient and it does not discharge burnt oil into the atmosphere.

How do you choose how much horsepower your boat needs?

You want to make sure you have enough horsepower for your boat to glide across the water the way you want it to. You also want to make sure you do not overpower your boat, as this will make it difficult to operate. You need to locate the manufacturer's capacity plate on your boat that lists the maximum horsepower your boat was designed to handle to make sure you get a suitably sized engine. If the plate is missing, you need to find out the weight of the boat. A rule of thumb states you should have between 25 pounds and 40 pounds of weight for each point of horsepower. For example, if you have a 3,000-pound boat, you divide that weight number by 40 and 25 to get the range for the engine size to use on that boat. In this instance, you want an engine the produces between 75 and a 120 horsepower to get one that is the right size for your boat.

The condition of the engines listed on eBay

You can purchase a new engine, like a Mercury four-stroke with 90 hp, or you can get an affordable used 50 hp Mercury outboard for sale on eBay.
