The side curtains attach to the cabinet of the air conditioner with four screws on each side.

They are secured at the top with the upper guide and the bottom with the frame guides

he side curtains function to close off the open space on either side of the air conditioner in the window. The side curtains expand out to close the open space and are secured to the window sash and sill.

If the side curtains will not expand far enough out to fill in all the open space, then the window is too wide for the air conditioner. This means the window requirements are not met. LG does not have longer side curtains, nor do we recommend the use of any type of extenders. Failure to observe the window requirements for the unit may compromise the stability of the installation.
