Dec 19, 2011 I thought i saw one on her and did a search for it but i could not find it. Does anyone have a cross reference chart for oil filters that can be used in place of the John Deere ones? I know i should use the JD part and i plan on it, it is just info i need. Joined Feb 3,

Don't feel bad... I'm a big Deere fan, but I'm not saying that they make the best filter and/or oil -- Others will certainly work and work just fine if you need/want to use them. What machine are you looking for a filter for? Joined Nov 8, 2011 · 69 Posts
Discussion Starter · #5 · Dec 20, 2011 it is a debate my dad and i have been having. I would like to use a wix filter but i do not want to void my warranty and make sure the oil bypass release at the same pressure as the deere filter. I have an x700 and he has an x500.

I just looked up the Hydro Filter for my 317, $9.99 at local JD Dealer. Crossed to Wix/NAPA and it is $11.99. I will stick with the JD Brand I believe. They have worked all these years, so why change? IMO:trink40: Joined Nov 8, 2011 · 69 Posts

i thought all oil filters in the canister version had bypasses encase there was a clog? Sounds like we need someone to cut open a few filters and see what's inside each brand. I'm sure with the Christmas break and little snow there should be someone with a few spare moments - Any volunteers??? If you
need a quick filter for the X500, Mobil 1 M1-103, Wix 51394 (aka NAPA 1394), Purolator L14476, and a F**m 4967 all substitute for the JD AM107423. Not that it means anything, but shine a light into the JD and the Mobil 1 and they have the same piece inside... Deere doesn't make their filters, someone else does.

We had an indepth thread about this topic some years ago. One of our members did his own research into filters. A search might turn this up. Joined Feb 5, 2010 · 102 Posts
I found a cross reference for my 2320 to a Mobil 1 filter but the JD filter was a LOT cheaper, so that is the way i went.. I also found a FleetGuard cross, but it was 2x as expensive as the Mobil.. I am assuming there had to be something different with the FG that I didnt realize.. brian SonnyT· Retired Super Moderator - Deceased September 2015Joined Jan 27, 2009 · 26,751 Posts
i thought all oil filters in the canister version had bypasses encase there was a clog? Don't know but it says none for by pass valve setting psi, and if it had a bypass valve it would have a setting I would think??? This is the Wix Cross for JD Hydro Filter. UPC
