About the Jeep CompassVehicle SummaryThe Jeep brand has been long known for its rugged SUVs, and the Jeep Compass is no exception. While it may be smaller than many of Jeep's other vehicles (being categorized specifically as a crossover SUV), it packs a lot of punch. Show

By the 2013 model year, however, it was given this distinction, much to the delight of consumers. Throughout the remainder of the first generation of production for the Jeep Compass, there were some changes and upgrades. The 2014 Jeep Compass received a standard touchscreen interface and rearview camera for the first time, as well as a new optional automatic transmission in place of its existing CVT(continuously variable transmission). The 2015 Jeep Compass gained a new navigation system and more trims with all-wheel drive. For the 2016 Jeep Compass, new standard features grew to include Bluetooth® connectivity and satellite radio. Jeep Compass towing capacity has remained at an estimated 1,000 pounds from the 2013 through 2018 model years.1 But when it comes to Jeep Compass gas mileage, there have been some changes. For comparison, the 2013 Compass Sport trim with 2.0-liter engine and automatic transmission gets an estimated 24 mpg combined (22 city and 27 highway) compared to the estimated 25 mpg combined(23 city and 30 highway) on the 2016 Compass Sport trim with 2.0-liter engine and automatic transmission.2 2013-2016 Trims:
The Jeep Compass is completely redesigned for the 2017 model year and enters a new generation. 2017 sees the addition of the Trailhawk trim, as well as a new suspension and powertrain. There are two different versions of the Jeep Compass available for the 2017 model year. That's because Jeep began the model year with an unchanged design from 2016; it was only part-way through the model year that they decided to release the re-designed version, which can be confusing to some buyers. So, if you're shopping for a 2017 Compass, be sure to find out whether you're looking at a redesigned version or not. Between the 2017 and 2018 model years, however, there aren't any changes at all. 2017-2018 Trims:
1Various factors may impact towing capacity, including weight of passengers, cargo, and options/accessories. 2Fuel economy figures are based on EPA estimates when vehicles sold as new. Fuel economy may vary for reasons like driving conditions and vehicle history. Unless specified, figures are for vehicles equipped with an automatic transmission. See fueleconomy.gov for details. Find Used Jeep Compass For Sale By YearFind Used Jeep For Sale By ModelFind Used Jeep Compass For Sale By TrimReviews for Jeep CompassOverall Rating3.8 out of 5 (220 reviews) Ever since I bought it it has had issues. I’ve brought it in about 3 times for the same issue and it’s never been fixed. It makes a constant loud noise like it’s hitting something and sounds like a lawn mower. And it still shake every time I brake. When I bought it I also brought it in because it was out of alignment and it would shake when driving 40 miles an hour. I wish I brought this back within the 7 days because it’s garbage and I regret the purchase. Especially having two young kids. Pros
Cons
Im 26 and finally got rid of my high school car. I got the jeep compass. It's a great vehicle. It's perfect for what I do on a daily basis commuting for work all over the city. It has plenty of room for my dog when I drop the seats down for her. I go up and down the mountains with ease when I go fishing. The volume of the stereo could go higher but it's great. Heat works good. Air conditioning is great. My friends like my car. I don't need any high tech dash equipment. It's what my phone is for. It's not loud and the cabin is nicce and quiet.it handles great in stop and go trafficking with all of the lunatic drivers out there that cause fender benders... gas is good. I calculate it for work and budget purposes and it's simple to track. Pros
Cons
- Marco Nungaray, 2015 Jeep Compass There are several reason why I would NOT recommend this car to a friend. It is a 4 cylinder Jeep that still only gets about 20 mpg. It is rather sluggish on power when needed. The automatic stop/start feature has had to be repaired twice since I purchased the car in June of 2021. There is not a lot of storage room in the front seating area. The head rests on the back seats are so high that they create blind spots for cars behind you. Rear camera had to be repaired as well. I wasn't looking for luury, but this really is a "Cheap Jeep."!!! Pros
