Unfortunately, without a secret question or alternate email address, you won’t be able to access your password. Google does, however, require you to complete at least one of these security measures – so if you don’t have a recovery mobile number, you will have a backup address or security question.

How to Reset Your Password

Head over to the ‘Trouble Signing In’ page, which you can find here:
The page will ask you to enter your email. Do this, and then press ‘Next’. If you can’t remember your email, you can also click the ‘Find my account’ button which will help you find out your account email address.
Press next, and you will be asked to enter the last password that you remember using. So, if you can’t remember your current password, you can move to the next step by remembering an old password.
If you can’t remember any old passwords, you can also choose the ‘Try a different question’ option, which appears below the large blue ‘Next’ button.
If you are logged into your account on a mobile device, you will be asked if you want to send a prompt to your device to confirm you are who you say you are. When you receive the prompt, you can tap the ‘Yes’ button to confirm that you want to go ahead and change your password.
If you don’t have a mobile device that’s logged in to your account, you can again choose ‘Try a different question’. The next page will ask you to send an email containing a one-off verification code to your alternate email address. Your alternate email address will appear on this page above the ‘Send’ button, so you know where to log in.
If you don’t know your alternate email address, or you don’t have one set up, you can again press ‘Try a different question’ and you will be asked when you created your Google account. If you can provide the month and the year, you will be able to complete one stage of verification. If you still don’t have this information, you can again press ‘Try a different question’.
Google will give you the option to use another email address on the next screen. It ideally needs to be an account that is already added to your Google email security system, but other email addresses can be used if Google is able to somehow verify that the same person owns the account. You can also press ‘Try a different question’ for another option.
If none of these options work, try checking passwords that you use for other accounts or any password folders you might have set up on mobile devices. Without being able to verify that you are who you say you are, Google will not give you access to your Gmail account, in order to keep your data and personal information safe.

Now, you will be asked to enter the last password that you remember with this Google Account.

Here old password means that you have to enter any of the passwords that you remember for this account. You must have changed it several times and even if you don’t remember the right one, you may recall and enter the one you have ever used for your account, press ‘Next’.

Next, for your Gmail account recovery, you will be asked to check your mobile device for the notification that you have received from Google. You simply have to tap ‘Yes’ on your mobile device followed by the number that you can see on the screen. If you don’t have access to your mobile device that is showing on the screen, click on ‘I don’t have my phone’ option to proceed.

Note- To use this option, you will only need access to your old mobile device that you have ever used to log in to your Gmail account; phone number is not required.

After that, you will get the option to use your recovery email address for your Gmail account recovery, as you don’t have access to it, simply click ‘Try another way’.

Next, depending on the recovery information you have added to your Gmail account, you will either get the option to use your mobile number or to answer the security question. So, even if you don’t have access to your recovery email address or phone number, you can still get back access to your Gmail account by correctly answering the security question, click on ‘Next’ to proceed.

Upon correctly answering the security question, you will be allowed to change the password of your Gmail account.

That’s how you can easily reset the password of your Gmail account, even if you don’t have access to your recovery or alternative email address or phone number that was linked to your account.

Note- The options you will get for recovering your Gmail account depends on the information you have added to your account while setting it up.
