Apple CarPlay and Android Auto can be installed in your Mazda by your local Mazda dealer. If you live in Southern California, you can get it done right here at Capistrano Mazda. In addition to the installation of the Apple CarPlay and Android Auto software, the most recent version of the MAZDA CONNECT™ infotainment system will be installed, along with 2.1-amp USB ports. Android Auto™ Set-Up Guide for Mazda

Before you start to set up Android Auto™, make sure that you are parked with the parking brake engaged and you have the proper cable.

1. Connect your Android phone to the USB port labeled with a smartphone icon.
2. MAZDA CONNECT™ will detect your phone. You will then follow the on-screen prompts to finish setting up.
3. Once connected, there are three ways you can access Android Auto™:
   • Press and hold the Home button on the Commander control.
   • Tilt the Commander knob forward to choose the Android Auto™ icon on the MAZDA CONNECT™ home screen.
   • On MAZDA CONNECT™ home screen, use Commander knob to choose “Application” and then “Android Auto™.”

What Can You Do with Android Auto™?

If you haven’t used Android Auto™ previously, you might be wondering what you can do with it. You can use Google Assistant to do thing like find a route, play music, and check the weather. All you need to do is say “Hey Google,” to get started. Another features you can enjoy is making calls, messaging, and chat apps by using voice control. Pause, play and skip songs by using voice commands to control whichever music app you prefer use.
