If your Hawley retainer breaks, you’ll need to take it to the dentist to have it repaired or have a new one created. Hawley retainers are less and less common, but they still do exist and are a viable option.

These are the Invisalign type retainers made from 1mm Essix material. They are the more modern of the three retainer types and are therefore much more common.
