Dec 17, 2020 The last few days I was struck by the infamous radio crackling, cutting in and out and becoming unavailable. I have read a tremendous amount of posts regarding this. I dropped my 2020 Passport Elite off at the dealership this morning. Thankfully I have a GREAT dealership (Valley Honda in Aurora Il.). My service advisor was well aware of this issue and stated
that because of the frequency of this issue in new upper trim level Passports, Odysseys, and Pilots they are keeping the likely culprit parts in inventory. He indicated that new model Hondas with the MOST bus (Link to Honda MOST BUS Service Notification) are the ones effected by this. I will update the post with the diagnosis and resolution once completed. In the meantime, I was
given a 2020 Pilot as a loaner and will enjoy racking up the miles on it. Joined

They found the MOST Bus to be defective and completely
replaced it along with its housing. Picked my car up this morning and it the radio worked fine. My service advisor stated that this is very common and they are mainiting ample stock of the necessary parts to fix this. This week they had performed this repair on 6 other vehicles Pilots and Passports. All was obviously covered on warranty, and after driving a Pilot Elite for a day, I am very happy to have my Passport back. Cheers, Tats Joined

Greetings All! I am the (mostly) happy owner of a 2021 Passport EX-L and have only had it a week or so. The radio problem (pretty much exactly what you guys have described above) just happened for the first time last night. I called the dealer and they told me that at this time the only 2021 vehicles covered for the fix are the Pilots. They told me
to video the problem when it happens again and they will run it up the chain of command. Wadda you guys think? Joined Mar 8, 2020 · 476 Posts

Technically, if they ONLY referred specifically to the TSB as currently written as of September 10, 2020, Version 3, your non-customer-friendly voice on the other end of the phone is correct. Absolutely disrespectful and inconsiderate, but correct on the exact words that were written on the TSB . . . but not correct on the purpose of the TSB. TSB's are updated frequently, in
this case TSB 20-058 has been updated 3 times in a month, and each update ADDED additional models with the same KNOWN problem that is covered by this TSB. If it were me, I would simply drive into their service area, speak to service advisor face-to-face, and inform him/her of your infotainment failure/problem, and ask their service advisor to schedule appointment for in-warranty repair. The TSB 20-058 simply provides instructions to Honda techs and
advisors on known problems and how to fix a known problem, . It does not mean the same information cannot be applied to similar years/vehicles. Dealership receives 'allowances' from Honda when they complete in-warranty repairs, whether it is covered by a TSB or not. Therefore whether your problem is covered by this s-p-e-c-i-f-i-c dated TSB or not, you still have an in-warranty problem that needs to be addressed. No
video recording or "run it up the chain of command' is required. This is NOT an unknown new-problem-without-solution like it once was . . . Honda has found a 'fix.' That's what this guy thinks . . .
All, I'm not sure if anyone mentioned this but we've had this and other problems with the infotainment system and the last and third visit was the final straw. If you're interested in getting together to file a class action, can you please send me a PM. I'm talking to a lawyer next week to explore the options. Thank you How do I reset the sound on my Honda Pilot?Turn your ignition to the ON position without starting your engine. Press the volume control knob to turn the radio on. Wait for 10 seconds, then turn your radio off.
How do I reset my Honda audio system? If the radio is showing ERR instead of CODE, turn off the vehicle and disconnect the black cable on your battery for one to three minutes. This step will reset the system.
