MLB commissioner Rob Manfred will be in Seattle on Thursday for a "major announcement." ESPN first reported the news. It will be the third time All-Star weekend has been held in Seattle, along with 1979 and 2001. The 2022 event is set for Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles. The league has also awarded the 2026 event to Philadelphia. The 2001 All-Star Game featured four Mariners in the American League's starting lineup, as Seattle went on to tie the major-league record with 116 wins that season.
