The Internal Medicine Residency is a traditional educational program that recruits the most competitive candidates and trains them to become competent and safe clinicians. It is expected that they will become clinical and academic leaders in their communities. Our ever changing medical landscape makes for a challenging and exciting arena to improve our educational processes, clinical care and research opportunities. The program is a joint effort of Charleston Area Medical Center (CAMC) and West Virginia University School of Medicine. This partnership offers a university atmosphere in the setting of a community hospital. Benefits of this collaboration include:
Charleston Area Medical Center (CAMC) is a 900-bed plus tertiary care facility, and because there are no similar institutions in the area, the volume and type of clinical pathology seen is unique. And so, the significantly large clinical volume and the variety of pathology treated at CAMC allow physicians in training to accumulate an unparalleled experience. We are pleased to know you might be interested in our program, and we would be equally pleased to answer any questions you might have. |
