Bissell turboclean powerbrush pet carpet cleaner not spraying

This is a day 2 review.

When I purchased this, I just needed something to do the job, we have two cats in this household, and one of them has a tendency to... well... relieve himself on the carpet.
With the death of my previous carpet cleaner (A Hoover PowerDash Pet that developed Sudden Unexpected Death Syndrome [SUDS]), I was in desperate need of a replacement.

I decided to take a chance on that products seemingly direct competitor.
That chance, so far, has proven to be far less rewarding that I'd hoped.

First, the better things about this, versus my previous cleaner:

1. There is a filter on the clean water container. I'm not sure why, I don't see there being any chance an impurity large enough to get caught in it could end up in the clean tank.

2. It's not dead (yet).

Now, with that out of the way, what feels wrong with it?

Priced the same, and positioned in the same market segment, one would think the features and build quality would be comparable, correct?

Nope, not at all.
The Bissell Turboclean Powerbrush Pet is a downgrade in every way.
Assembly is less simple, although still simple enough, with a plastic part to be placed on the unit itself, and screwed in, then the handle inserted, and a locking ring twisted.
This would be okay, if it resulted in any perceivable stability increases.

Unfortunately, in my experience thus far, it does not.
The mechanism for the handle, and thus the trigger mechanism, has been severely compromised in order to give the handle the ability to retract into the body of the machine.
The ring lock? It constantly unlocks, causing the trigger to stop functioning in regular usage. So much so, that I ended up using duct tape to lock it in place, as even the slightest twist on the handle makes it unlock, and forces you to lean down and relock it. (actually, locking is a bit of an overstatement, it doesn't *ACTUALLY* lock in place, there is nothing KEEPING it locked)

As for other parts on it, the dirty tank seems to be a bit easier to clean than my last machine, albeit only by a tiny bit. The locking mechanism for the tank is slightly annoying when cleaning more than one or two spots, as it's held in place by two plastic latches, on the left and right.

When emptying it, there's a much higher chance of getting the waste water on your hand, as it has multiple open holes for the waste water to come out of, compared to my previous unit's single (plugged) port for draining. Again, internally, it's easier to clean, but externally, I hope you're alright having the waste water cover your hands.

In regards to actually cleaning, it does it's job. It feels like it has less suction than my previous unit, although not too much less, and I think it's actually about on par with suction. Overall though, I generally feel it cleans a bit less than the competition.

Final verdict: Please don't buy this, unless you want to deal with a cheap (even by cheap standards) product that looks and feels $50 cheaper than it actually is.

Buy Hoover's PowerDash Pet instead of this, It's the same price, and in general, a much better experience to work with. Almost none of my issues I have with this apply to that unit.
It may have died in a year, but I'll take dead in a year, and actually being decent to use, over this.

The cleaner seems to be losing suction power over time, I may very well return it and order something better.
