Overpriced battery but it lasts as long as the original.

These last a long time, a surprisingly long time in my GLX-D wireless transmitter. I play out and use wireless for my instrument (bass guitar) gigging 2-3 times a week for 3-4 hours each. I have to recharge about every 5-6 gigs or so and even then it says there is battery life left, it just makes me nervous for it to last so long.

I have an extra one of these charged and in my gig bag at all times just in case but it's never been a problem.

A guy I know has been using these for a while and his battery still holds pretty much the same amount of charge as it did when new, which is phenomenal. This battery is a key reason why I ended up going with the GLD-D series wireless over the competitors.

Let me be clear - if I had known the new wireless rig I was buying from Shure had a proprietary battery system, I would not have recommended it to the local high school marching band. It's one thing to have to have a box of AA or 9 volt batteries which you can get at any convenience store if necessary. It's a completely different animal to have a battery system that ONLY works on this platform, and you can ONLY get from Shure at $30 ea.

Given that companies are constantly updating their gear & electronics, I could see the day when these batteries are no longer available, and the old ones will no longer hold a charge. So suck it up and buy a couple extra so you can extend the life of the whole system.

I have a set of 6 of these wireless microphones and as much as I use them it was absolutely necessary for me to have these extra batteries on hand. I run these batteries for all day events on Fridays and Saturdays and I love that they can run the mics for the full day of use without needing to be swapped. I replace the batteries at the end of each day and then charge the others during the next days use. The discharged batteries are always fully charged long before I need to replace the others which is extremely comforting. After 8 months of regular use, I have noticed no reduction in charge capacity.

After letting the battery in my wireless pack stay dead for a couple weeks I was unable to get it to recharge. I bought this battery to replace it. It works just like it should. I wouldn't recommend letting this stay uncharged for too long so it doesn't end up like my first one (which I had only had for a little over a year).

I’m glad that got this extra battery because it both saves time and money at the same time for my partner who absolutely loves the new sm58 wireless mic tha I for him to use at every church assembly. 16hours of battery is mighty fine and don’t have to fumbling around a lot for changing batteries. Ideal for a long parish retreat or a special event.

If you have a compatible Shure microphone, you need to get an extra battery. No more worrying about battery life - when the battery gets low, just swap it for a freshly charged battery! Almost no downtime.

This works as it should. It's nice to have a backup battery just in case in a live situation. 1 is none and 2 is 1.

I wanted a spare battery, instead I got a battery that will never fully charge even after 24h. The receiver just stay on the red light, stock at 1/2 capacity. Never got that problem with my original battery.
