Members can apply for 2022 Pin Awards and 2023 Trip Awards. There is one application that does it all and you can choose the application that works best for you. See the options below.

2023 Trip Details

  • Buckeye Leadership Workshop – Recreation Unlimited, Ashley, OH. March. Age 16 or high school sophomore.
  • State 4-H Leadership Camp – 4-H Camp Ohio, early June. Must be age 14 as of Jan 1st.
  • 4-H Citizenship-Washington Focus – National 4-H Center, Washington DC. June/July. Must be age 14 as of Jan 1st.
  • 4-H Forestry Wildlife Camp– Canter’s Cave 4-H Camp, Weekend in April. Youth ages 12 – 18
  • Ohio 4-H Sea Camp – Kelley’s Island 4-H Camp, July. Youth must be ages 15-17

  • October 12                   Member’s application due to Extension Office.  Extension Office removes names and adds numbers to applications to provide an anonymous packet for the Awards Selection Committee to review.

  • October 24                      Trip Committee interviews applicants and selects winners for 4-H Trips and Margaret Meredith award.
  • Early November          Award winners invited to attend the 4-H Year Celebration.
  • November 17                 4-H Year Celebration – Ice Cream Bar at 6:30 PM and program at 7:00 PM. at the Washington County Junior Fair Building. Award Applications are returned to applicants.

All 2022 Livestock members showing animals at the Washington County Fair are required to attend Pen Set up or tear down at the Washington County Fairgrounds.
– Members whose last name falls between letters A to L will need to attend Pen set up on Aug. 14 at 3pm.
– Members whose last name falls between letters M to Z need to attend Pen tear down on Sept. 11 at 3pm.
Sign out sheets will be provided when set up or tear down is complete. Any junior exhibitor not signing out will forfeit 20% of their total sales.

DRUG USE NOTIFICATION FORM (DUNF): This will be an online form for 2022. The link is NOW LIVE and must be completed before Weigh-in at the County Fair. This is required for Market Steers, Dairy Feeder Steers, Market Goats, Market Lambs, Market Chickens, and Market Turkeys (not required for market rabbits). You will complete a DUNF for each animal/pen you are bringing to the fair. You will also need your animal’s ear tag or leg band numbers. Leg band numbers were emailed to market chicken and market turkey exhibitors. You will get an email confirmation after the DUNF is submitted. – https://go.osu.edu/washingtoncounty-dunf

The fall session will be in October and November at Hervida 4-H Camp. Youth ages 9-19 are welcome to join in the fun while learning the basic skills of a shooting sports discipline.

Choose from archery or shotgun. All shooting equipment and supplies are provided.

Advance registration opens Friday, September 2 with the first meeting on October 9.

Registrations are limited. Youth will choose one discipline and participate in that discipline for the whole session. Please enter the child’s “name”. The guardian’s “email” and “phone” are preferred. More information will be emailed to you by October 1 in preparation for the first meeting.

Youth must be 9 years old as of January 1, 2022 and not older than 19 by December 31, 2022.

Shotguns have a recoil and weigh between 6-8 lbs. We use both low recoil shotguns and ammunition. But recoil is still present. Participants are expected to be able stand, hold and swing the shotgun by themselves. We will be using 20 gauge shotguns. Please contact Brian Baker for further details 740-350-8155

Signing up for October 9 session will automatically register the youth for all Sunday meetings of the fall session (1-3pm Kick-off/Mandatory Safety Meeting on Oct 9, classes on October 16 & 30, November 6 & 13.
