1 Air Conditioner problem

Failure Date: 06/03/2018

I keep getting a message that states the 911 system needs maintenance. Shortly after I started getting that message, when starting my Jeep my screen will stay blank for about 3-5 minutes before coming on. When it is blank the vehicle will switch between air conditioning and heat, high fan and low fan speed. When the screen is blank I am unable to do anything. . . . . Even using the buttons below the screen do not work.

2 Air Conditioner problem

Failure Date: 06/01/2018

Radio does not come on when car starts. The air conditioning will also not turn on at times when this is happening. The dash has also been effected at times, not lighting up. The radio has come on while driving. The car can be driven but no features from the radio panel.

3 Air Conditioner problem

Failure Date: 06/01/2017

The air conditioning went out on my 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Apparently this is a common problem with these vehicles. The dealer's service writer immediately told me that 85% of the time when the a/c goes out in this vehicle it's the evaporator inside the car behind the dash. Upon further examination by the repair technician that's what needed to be replaced. I asked if they replace the evaporator with the same part and he said no, they now use a different sku replacement evaporator. Obviously, Jeep is aware of this problem and has made changes to fix it. However, in my case Jeep won't pay for the replacement saying my vehicle with 45,000 miles is past the warranty period. It's my position that Jeep used a defective evaporator in the first place and it's only my bad luck that it did not start leaking freon sooner. Apparently the evaporator is not *that* expensive but it is located in a difficult location to get to, behind the dashboard, and that makes it an expensive repair ($1,680). I believe Jeep/Chrysler should pay for this repair at a minimum, and failing that, a recall should be put into effect.

4 Air Conditioner problem

Failure Date: 03/31/2017

I bought the vehicle nearly 2 years ago and it has had this problem intermittently. At least once a week, the radio/phone/navigation panel will not start when the car does. So I have no heat or air conditioning, no back up camera, no radio, no handsfree phone. This situation usually lasts about 5 minutes but eventually will start. I have not been to the dealership to see about it so I don't know what it is. But this has the potential to be very dangerous for me. I am a realtor and I've put 70k miles on my car in the past year. I am in it all the time and I need these features to work. I bought this particular vehicle used and I love everything about it, except this. Please do a recall on this feature. I'm not the only person that has had these problems.

5 Air Conditioner problem

Failure Date: 07/14/2015

The air conditioner blows hot air in the summer and cold air in the winter. Also, the power locks do not work at times on the driver side door.

6 Air Conditioner problem

Failure Date: 06/12/2014

Sitting in parking lot with air conditioner on & suddenly ac started blowing hot air. Climate control automatically turned itself off. When I turned it to max ac it blew cold air. Then I returned it back to ac and it blew cold air again. Approximately 2 weeks later, mph at 60, same thing happened. When I took it in for service, technician explained it as coils freezing up because of humidity. No action was performed.

7 Air Conditioner problem

Failure Date: 12/21/2013

•approximately twenty nine (29) days after purchasing the vehicle I began to have trouble with the 911 button on the rearview mirror flashing red which would lead to a message on the navigation screen which read “vehicle phone requires service contact dealer”. •the vehicle has been returned to the dealer for service on 12/21/13, 5/17/14, 7/21/14 and 7/29/14 for this 911 button issue on 5/17/14 said vehicle was returned to the crowley service dept. For the same problem of the 911 button flashing and the message on the navigation screen reading “vehicle phone requires service contact dealer. ” on 7/21/14 said vehicle was again brought to the crowley service dept. For a multitude of issues: •again the 911 light on the rearview mirror was flashing and the navigation screen read “vehicle phone requires service contact dealer”. •the airbag light on the dashboard was illuminated: •the seatbelt indicators for both driver and passenger were lit up and would not stop “dinging” regardless of proper use or there not being a passenger in the seat •the rpms would suddenly skyrocket and the vehicle would make a “vroom” noise while the digital screen read “service shifter”: •the air conditioning system was blowing warm air. On 7/29/14 said vehicle was returned to the crowley service dept. For a completely non-functional a/c system. On 7/31/14, after having the vehicle back from the crowley service dept for less than 24 hours, I attempted to answer a phone call using the bluetooth software in said Jeep. The in dash phone displayed on the navigation screen no longer rings to notify the driver of an incoming call. Attempts to select the green button to answer the calls lead to a transfer of audio from bluetooth to the handheld device, (illegal to use while driving in CT), and the call is terminated.
