GUARANTEED ANALYSIS MIXING AND FEEDING DIRECTIONS

Mix milk replacer powder using a wire whisk at a rate of 150 grams of dry powder to 1000 mL of warm water 38°C.  Dry powder should be weighed for accuracy.
From birth to 3 days.  Feed 2 liters of high quality, first milking colostrum within the first 30 minutes after birth.  Feed an additional 2 liters at 6 to 12 hours of age.  Continue feeding colostrum, through the third day after birth.
These recommended rate apply to large breed animals (calves over 40 kg at birth).

These feeding directions are only a guideline and should be adjusted to the needs of the calf.  For smaller breed animals, reduce the amount of recommended quantities of mixed solution.
Calves will vary in feed requirements depending on size and age.  Observe calves closely during the milk replacer feeding period.  Avoid underfeeding, which may result in starvation and overconsumption (overfeeding) which may increase incidence of scours.

Available in 10 kg & 20 kg bags

What is the ratio for calf milk replacer?

Mixing Instructions: Measure 2.0 quarts of clean, warm water (110o F) into a clean bucket. Fill enclosed cup level full (10 ounces) with milk replacer powder. Sprinkle 10.0 ounces (0.625 pound) of milk replacer onto the water surface and mix thoroughly. Feed this amount TWICE a day.

What kind of milk replacer is best for calves?

Milk proteins are typically recommended in calf milk replacers, as they are more digestible for calves than non-milk protein sources. Offering a desirable amino acid profile, sources of milk proteins include whey, whey protein concentrate, whey solubles, de-lactosed whey, skim milk and casein.

What is the ratio of milk replacer to water?

It is very important to always follow the recommended mixing instructions when reconstituting milk replacer. One level scoop of powdered milk replacer should be measured and mixed with 2 scoops of hot (60°C) water, a ratio of 1:2 powder to water.

How long should calves stay on milk replacer?

After the initial colostrum feeding, calves should be fed up to 2 liters of milk replacer two to three times a day. This will continue until the calf is at least 8-12 weeks old. As the calf grows, you can begin to supplement milk replacer feedings with hay, calf pellets, and pasture.
