How to Answer
The interviewer would like to know in which way(s) you seek to improve yourself. This question is another way of asking 'What is your greatest weakness?' Saying 'nothing' is not an option here. Self-improvement is required by everyone, no matter what stage we are in, in life and career. Talk to the interviewer about something that you would improve about yourself and what you are planning to do to achieve that.

"I would like to improve upon my computer skills. I am currently at an intermediate level with Microsoft Office Suite but would like to advance. I have enrolled in a class this Fall which should help me to reach that goal."

"I would like to improve my skills when it comes to Google's online office tools. I am somewhat familiar with G-Suite but not familiar enough considering I believe these tools are where office management is going. Google offers online tutorials, so I plan to start taking these modules next week."
Manager
"Everyone needs improvement in some way. For me, I would like to work on improving my typing skills. I am so accustomed to working on the floor, as a hands-on manager, that I spend very little time in my office on the computer. Being a 'two-finger' typer makes my documentation and report writing tasks a bit more time consuming than I would like."
Marketing
"If I could improve anything about myself I would choose to improve my delegation skills. As a creative type, I tend to jump right into a project, thinking that I can do it all. And, I do succeed; however, implementing more of a teamwork mentality never hurts either."
Retail
"I believe that post-secondary education is crucial and, unfortunately, I did not get the opportunity to go to university. I think it would greatly help me in my retail career to have formal education as that is often a question on job applications. I plan to take online courses in the evening and weekends to complete my degree in business administration and communications."
Sales
"I have been thinking about this recently - about how I can improve myself in the workplace and also as an individual. I plan to work on my networking skills this year. I will start with attending more sales related events in the city and getting to know more business owners in the area. This plan can only increase my opportunities when it comes to meeting potential new clients."
Teacher
"I would like to expand my coaching and mentoring skills. As an educator, I find that I spend a lot of my time not only teaching, but putting out fires associated with my students' personal lives. School is where they spend the majority of their day, so of course, it makes sense that their personal issues would come up in this setting as well."

"I have noticed that I am a very detail-oriented person. Which generally speaking is a positive thing, where I would like to improve is being better at realizing what details are important and what details are not. A person can get lost in details and waste a lot of time quickly. I have been working on this recently and am being more mindful of this."

Good answer! You demonstrate self-awareness, and you are honest about the ways being too detail-oriented can potentially result in wasted time. To further strengthen your answer, be more specific on the steps you will take to turn this into an area of strength. This question is another way of asking 'What is your greatest weakness?'. "I've found that sometimes I get so excited with an idea that I rush into it and people can't keep up with me. What works better is when I remember to consciously stop and do the work to better communicate what I'm thinking. For example, this year I noticed that people weren't buying into my product ideas about how to test machine learning models. So I spend a fortnight prototyping my ideas into an interactive app that my colleagues could try, then recorded a 3-minute video in which I demo the ideas. All of a sudden people were raving about it!"

It's great that you understand this about yourself and have taught yourself to communicate your ideas better. The interviewer will appreciate that you're self-aware and trying to improve yourself. Your response also indicates that you're passionate and enthusiastic, which are both great qualities.
