Is this shop still around?.......My friend bought a six duece manifold for a FE, it came in the original box from Rocco & Cheaters. There was news paper wrapping it from 1959 and four of these cool decals in the box. Sorry guys, I jumped the gun.......a search got me all the info I needed.
I did search, duh, and found the info I needed............Thanks.
Neat decal anyway.I grew up in Birmingham in the 50's and 60's. Rocco and Cheaters Speed shop was right on the main drag ( Ist ave ) going into down town. It closed before I left Birmingham in 1966.
I'm pretty sure that it is still around. I have exchanged PM's with to grandson a couple of years back. The place is AMAZING if you ever get a chance to visit. I was there back when Sam was there and he said go enjoy yourself with your camera & the wife sat in the car for about 3 hours in the "hood" of Alabama.

You can still run into them occasionally at some of the car shows.I ran into him last time at Autofair in Charlotte. He was selling some NOS stuff there.I think its just to have fun,not for money.
HAA...Funny this topic came up today ..i road by there yesterday and it was closed up tight but the windows are still filled with goodies........
I talk to Sam several times a week and their are no plans to reopen any time soon. Everything is in limbo.
it's a shame they are closed. i have heard of them for years and i finally rode by there today. it looks like they could open the doors this afternoon and be back in business. hopefully they will re-open one day. it would help if they moved to a better part of town
I'm sure this is old news, and I'll be greatly chastised for posting it, but for those who haven't seen it: //public.fotki.com/alabamaracingphotos/sanifippofamilyrocc/sanfilippofamilyroc.html#media
Thanks for sharing!!! Are the shots from the photo album that was on the counter in the shop? VERY cool of you to share the pix from back in the day.
Chris
Killer link Shemp. thanks for sharing that. I grew up in Birmingham during the 50's and 60's. The races at the fairgrounds on Friday night were great.
Just a up date, American Pickers were there, the show aired on 6-4-14. More then likely it was filmed a year before it aired. The building was still filled with hot rod stuff. I hope those items go to a good home.
