Save an Image with a Transparent Background?
The trick to saving an image with a transparent background (maybe something like your company logo or a graphic) is to put the image on a transparent layer all by itself, and then delete the Background layer by dragging-and-dropping it onto the Trash icon at the bottom of the Layers panel. After you’ve deleted the Background layer, save this file as a PNG (“ping”) file. This is a specific file format that supports transparency in many other programs. You do that by going under Photoshop’s File menu and ...
How to export only the graphics on layers in Photoshop
Adobe Photoshop CC 2019 (affiliate link)How To Export Layers as Transparent PNGs in Photoshop CC 2019
This tutorial will teach you how to Export Layers as transparent PNGs so only the graphic or whatever is on the layer will be exported and not the extra transparency of the canvas area.
The problem:
In the File Menu…Export As Transparent PNG will save the graphic and the extra transparency of the canvas.
The fix:
Right-click or Ctrl + click on the layer and select ‘Export As’ and Photoshop will only export whatever is on the layer and trim the transparency of the canvas.
Left: File > Export As (Keeps Extra Canvas)…………………….Right: Export As (Only the Graphic)
How To Export Layer as Transparent PNG:
If you want to export anything in Photoshop as a transparent PNG, instead of going to the File menu and selecting ‘Export As’, right-click on any layer and select ‘Export As’ and then choose PNG and make sure Transparent is checked.
- Select any Layer in Photoshop
- Right-Click (ctrl + click)
- Select ‘Export As’
- Select PNG
- Check the box for ‘Transparent’
- Click Export All
- Enter Name & Select Destination
- Click ‘Save’

Hi, I am building a company logo with Photoshop CC. The main objective for my logo is so it blends in nicely in header of my website. As you can see at //comparedeals.net my mobile phone website, I have had to shift the background color of the webpage to white as the logo is not transparent. How do I make the white background of the logo transparent?
I know how to remove the background by making that layer invisible but when I save the file as an image JPEG or PNG, the background is still white - which forces me to have a white background color for my website.
I know you can save with transparency but I can't remember how I did it last time I made a logo. Anyone know how?
Thanks.

save it as PNG , the other file format jpg Does not support transparency.
if you did that already, and did not work
Make sure that you did not merge the text with the backgeound , or it does not has any content behind.
if that did not work either , share a screenshot for your Layers

If you have used an Artboard to make your logo then you may have not noticed that in CC2015.5 you now have to set the background to transparent. This is different from earlier versions.
As Mohammad said you must use the .PNG file format for saving as that supports transparency whereas jpeg does not.

A logo with a transparent background can be crucial to having professional level designs and ads. It gives you more options of where you can place your logo on Pinoy TV, and allows for a polished look for the end product. While Photoshop is a go to tool for this, there are many other ways it can be accomplished, if you are a designer or not!

It might be because you have used an artboard, as @Terri_Stevens mentioned above. (Posted for google since this is the #1 result for this key).
