Konica Minolta's Bizhub line is a series of all-in-one printers and copiers that can be easily connected to computers. In addition to copying and scanning documents, you can also use the copier to print documents. You can plug the copier into your computer using either an Ethernet or USB cable. Although the printer comes with its own software, you can use Windows' built-in printer installer to set it up for basic printing. To use the more advanced controls, you need to install the software that comes with the copier.
Step 1
Plug the copier into your computer's USB port.
Step 2
Close all open programs on your computer.
Step 3
Open the Charms bar, and select "Search."
Step 4
Type "dev" in the field and click "Settings."
Step 5
Select "Devices and Printers" from the list to open the printers list.
Step 6
Right-click on your printer and select "Printer Properties."
Step 7
Click on the "Configure" tab and verify the options are correct. If not, click "Acquire Device Information" to configure your printer settings. You can also manually select driver options to install.
Step 8
Click the "Apply" button if it is available. If not, click the "General" tab and click "Printing Preferences" to open the Printing Preference dialog box. Click on the default settings you want for your printer.
Step 9
Click "Apply" and "OK" on both the Print Preference and Properties dialog boxes. Your printer will be connected.

Step-by-Step
Before you begin, you will need to know your computer’s operating system. To find this information:
- In Windows 10, type PC in the Windows 10 search box. Click This PC from the list that appears. In the window that appears, right-click This PC in the left-hand column then Properties from the menu that appears.
The information under the Windows edition heading includes the version of Windows your computer is running. The System heading has information on your version of Windows (i.e. 64-bit operating system).
Setting up a new printer is a three-step process: download the driver, install it, then configure your computer.
Download the Driver
To download drivers, go to //onyxweb.mykonicaminolta.com/OneStopProductSupport
- Enter in Quick Search or in Category, the model of the Monica Multifunction Device you're adding to your computer (i.e. bizhub c754e)
- Select Drivers, then choose your operating system and click Search.
- Click to choose the PCL driver then choose the most recent driver.
- Click Ok to save the driver.
Install the Driver
Once the driver is downloaded (C:\users\netid#\downloads folder on your computer), double click the .zip file to install it on your computer. If you’re in the same building as the copier, it should find the copier by IP address. You can then follow the prompts to add it (there’s a rename box on the last screen). You should contact your Dartmouth ITC Consultant for IP information if you do not have this on file.
Configure Your Computer
Once the correct driver is installed on your computer:
- Click Start then Devices and Printer (Windows 7) or Start then type Control Panel and then Devices and Printers (Windows 10)
- Right-click the appropriate printer and choose Printer Properties.
- Click the Advanced tab.
- Click Printing Defaults…
- For PCL drivers, this then connects you to the My Tab tab.
- Next to Favorite Setting, click the down arrow and choose Gray Scale.
- Click Apply, then OK.
