3. Not bringing offense however this is a common topic and the consensus usually ends up with people buying it. But it, if you don’t like it get rid of it. I have 2020 and an 06 V8. I miss the 2UZ engines so the throttle response form the commander is necessary.
   Again, most people I feel end up buying one. Ultimately, sounds like you already want one just want people to convince you to buy it.

   I've got sprint booster but they are pretty much the same thing... And yes I would rather have mine than not

    I have SB. 1st day I wasn't sure if it was worth it. Drove it on R2 for few days and today while at a red light i turned it off and I though something was wrong with he car. It barely moved when I pressed on the pedal lol. So yes, I think it's worth it.

    More likely mileage decreases.

    These mostly give more throttle response by mashing gas harder. Super unlikely this will improve MPGs.

    I have the SB, but it is the one mod that I appreciate every time I drive the 4R- it does change the driving experience.

15. 1st week or 2 of getting used to it and playing with the different modes = decrease.
    Now being used to MPG is the same.

    I’m going to go against the tide here. I don’t have one and will not buy one. An electronic device that fakes the computer into thinking you’ve pushed the throttle farther than you actually have so that your “seat of the pants” thinks “Wow! Such power!” is nothing more than marketing hype at its finest. If you’re actually off-road negotiating rough rocky terrain, or dancing through snow, mud, or sand, the last thing you need is wheel spin from a gizmo that’s trying to impress your “seat” with unintended power, and leave you wishing you would have not bought the gizmo, but instead, spent the $$$ on now needed recovery gear.

    I figured there was something like that. I just think it’s funny that there’s so much “oooh and ahhh” over an electronic placebo.

    18 page thread on it: Basically it takes out the Throttle Lag that the 4Runner has.

    Going back to my Nissan Frontier - this is similar to what Frontier Enthusiasts called WOT Lag or Wide Open Throttle. Tuners will remove that lag.

    You should really try a Sprint Booster. I keep mine in Race / Red 6.

    What lag? I don’t notice any lag when going zero to sixty in 30 seconds while keeping the Eco light on (must be something to do with my 4Runners handle). :0)

    I've done extensive reading on the SB vs.PC. It seems they are very similar, and those who select the Sprint Booster do so for the valet mode, lockout feature, and smaller sized controller, plus being able to unplug the controller, once you find your sweet spot, if you want to...fair assessment?

    @DRobs, I've read through that 18-page thread...seems like a stand-up guy, who stands by the SB, if he'll offer a 5-year warranty...

    The most telling thing for me was that he stopped carrying the Pedal Commander because he was having too many returns while the Sprint Booster has proven to be more reliable. I'm thinking about getting a Sprint Booster myself, and I'll definitely be getting it through him if I do especially since he has an extended warranty of his own so he's putting his money where his mouth is for sure.

    I’ve read somewhere sprint booster leaves a “red-flag” on the ECU while pedal commander (and I-drive for that matter) do not. The ‘red-flag” could cause warranty issues with the dealer. Any truth to this?

24. Seems like a fair assessment.The SB is few $ less than the PC. SB claims that they originated the design / software and have the SEMA award.

    It also has the ability to completely disable the vehicle via a code that you program. My lack of attention or minor case of ADD doesn't allow me to figure that out via the manual. Sure someone could steal the whole vehicle via flatbed or tow truck.

    Do read the manual if you get one. When changing intensity levels, you need to have your foot off the gas pedal (be coasting).

    Quoting Jason from the other board:

    That was my experience.Any modification will cause a warranty issue. Lift kit = warranty issue.
    Adding a light bar = warranty issue.

    I haven't heard of any issues with the Sprint Booster nor do I know if it flags the ecu. Best practice would be to turn it off (back to factory specifications) when having it serviced.

    I just had my last "free" oil change at the dealer on my 4Runner. I left my SB in Red 6 (which is pretty fast) and heard no complaints.

    I note that Toyota has incorporated some of this tech in my 2020 Rav4 TRD OR. It has 3 driving modes - Echo, Normal, and Sport.
    Echo has an extreme amount of throttle lag, Normal has a little less lag, and significantly less with Sport. I keep it in Sport.

    Buy it! If you think you want it, you're probably going to like it.

    I don't have one, and I'm not in a hurry to get one. But, the people who do have them seem to be consistently satisfied.

    It's really not much money when you consider the cost of these things.

    It sure seems like a lot of people are willing to spend good money to have a device push the pedal harder for them. These devices do not improve engine performance, and they reduce fuel economy.

    I don't have one....yet, But as sluggish as my truck feels, whenever I mat the throttle, I'm pleasantly surprised. So yeah, a more responsive throttle can't hurt.

30. Sprint Booster.
    For the reasons listed above.
    It’s smaller, easy to mount the controller.
    It will not cause any red flags or error codes if it’s working properly.
    There’s a multi-year warranty for it from the vendor previously listed.
    You will not get more horsepower or better/worse gas mileage. It’s just a little electronic amplifier that goes from min to max output faster than the OEM pedal does. But it gives you quicker response with less foot travel and makes driving more enjoyable.
    The vendor has a 30 day trial period so you have nothing to lose if you don’t like it. Just return it.

    As with all electronic devices, it can fail. I’ve heard of one guy who after more than a year had an intermittent failure of it where ECU detected it and threw a code and the truck had crappy acceleration. He’d clear the code and get several days of proper operation before it happened again. The vendor honored the warranty and he got a replacement unit.
