Learning about the world they live in is important for preschoolers as they begin to understand there is a bigger world beyond what they experience in their daily lives.
Preschoolers are learning
that others often do things different than what they are accustomed to. Learning about these differences early in life helps them to become more accepting of others.
Preschoolers will enjoy comparing the holiday customs in other countries to their own family traditions.
Preschoolers love cut and paste activities!
This included activity is a fun way for children to recall the traditions in each letter.
**Teacher Tip: Older children may enjoy using these as a sorting activity. Print, laminate, and cut and then challenge children to recall which country each tradition belongs to.
Create a space to display your Christmas Cards. You can track the countries featured on each card on the included printable map or on your own map.
*Teacher Tip: This is a great activity to do over the course of 1-2 weeks. Have children open 1 card each day and then do the included sorting activity. It would also be fun to read a book related to the
country as well as do a fun activity from each country.
See resources for each country below for ideas to complete your lesson plan.
